We Can’t Wait to Meet You!
Lip and tongue tie care should be as uncomplicated as possible. For your convenience, we provide you with access to all the forms you’ll need for your first visit. Filling these forms out at your leisure means less time in the waiting room and more time for you and your child to smile.
Your Child’s First Visit
A Soothing Experience
You and your child will be welcomed by one of our warm and friendly team members, and we’ll answer any financing questions you may have to make your appointment as smooth as possible. Based on your child’s age, we will gently assess their smile and oral development with a complimentary consultation that consists of the following steps:
Initial Assessment: Dr. Ozzie will evaluate your child's oral anatomy, checking for any lip and/or tongue ties. This may involve observation of feeding (for infants), speaking, or other oral movements. You may also be asked about any feeding, speech, or breathing issues your child is experiencing.
Discussion & Education: Dr. Ozzie will discuss her findings with you, explaining the potential impacts of the tie(s) on your child's health and development. Treatment options, potential benefits, risks, and aftercare procedures will also be discussed.
Procedure: If Dr. Ozzie finds intervention to be necessary, the frenectomy procedure can be performed the same day, should you wish to move forward. The procedure will be completed using our state-of-the-art LightScalpel CO2 laser in our treatment room. You are welcome to wait in our nursing suite or reception room for the few minutes your child will be away from you for the procedure.
What to Bring
To make sure your first visit goes as smoothly as possible, be sure to bring the following items to your appointment:
- Photo ID
- Form of Payment
- Questions
- Completed New Patient Forms
